Monumental City Bar Foundation’s Mission

The mission of the Monumental City Bar Foundation, Inc. (MCBF), as expressed in its Charter, is “to raise funds for scholarships and grants, and/or sponsorship of community related activities.”

 

Monumental City Bar Foundation’s Legacy & Heritage

Incorporated on May 20, 1998, MCBF is a non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) corporate entity whose tax identification number is 52-2098287. It is the philanthropic arm of the Monumental City Bar Association, Baltimore’s oldest and largest minority bar association. MCBF gives annual scholarships to area law school students, and partners with various community-based partner programs, such as CLREP-Law Links, Girl Scout’s Beyond Bars, Saint Frances Neighborhood Center, KIPP Baltimore, Inc., Baltimore Child Abuse Center’s DIVAS, the House of Ruth’s language line interpreter service, the ZOOmobile and the Baltimore MUREP Aerospace Academy programs, whereby mentorship, as well as other forms of support, are provided.

Objectives:

As an incorporated charitable organization, MCBF’s objectives are to foster and maintain the honor and integrity of the profession of the law; to improve and to facilitate the administration of justice; to enhance and improve the image of minority lawyers; and to promote the study of the law and research therein, and the diffusion of knowledge thereof.
